Welcome back to South County!  April Smith, branch manager of American Pacific Mortgage’s Grass Valley office, is thrilled to be back home again. In August, Nevada County’s oldest mortgage banking firm returned to its roots.  The company originally opened almost 30 years ago under the name of Central Pacific Mortgage right here on Wolf Road.  The office relocated to Grass Valley 15 years ago and underwent a name change to California Pacific Mortgage.  Earlier this year, the company received its Full Eagle FHA designation prompting Smith to take on the parent company’s name of American Pacific Mortgage. 

While the name changes may be confusing, the important part is the players have remained the same.  April has been with the branch for over 18 years.  Her long time loan processor, Suzi Yarborough, has been employed with the company for the past 10 years.  Jake Covert, who was the co-branch manager along with April, has been with the company for 15 years.  Pat Swope has over 10 years of employment with the branch.  The newest addition, Tom Smith, joined the company earlier this year.  Many of you will remember Tom as the branch manager of Falcon Financial.  Falcon Financial was also under the umbrella of American Pacific Mortgage and Tom decided to join forces with April and her branch.
