  Visitors Center

In April of 2004, the South Nevada County Chamber of Commerce opened our new office and Visitors Center in the Longs Shopping Center at the corner of Highway 49 and Combie Road.

The South Nevada County Visitors Center is an information distribution channel to current and prospective residents as well as tourists of Nevada County. As the southern gateway to Nevada County, visitors from Roseville and beyond must pass through our community to access the rest of Nevada County. The visitor’s center enhances the experience of relocating citizens by providing information on the local schools, parks and recreation, businesses opportunities and public services. Tourist information is also available. We are a marketing arm of Nevada County.

  Board of Directors

The South Nevada County Chamber of Commerce board is composed entirely of volunteers. The Chamber currently has 119 paid and active members representing approximately 74 unique business categories in South Nevada County

Gateway to Nevada County Monument Project

Several years ago, plans for a welcome monument began to form. The idea was to create an attractive structure that represents the unique history of Nevada County. After over three years of effort and $20,000 in fundraising, the Highway 49 Gateway Monument has been completed.

The monument stone was placed north of Bear River along the east side of Highway 49 near the intersection of Highway 49 and Rincon Way.

Dedication ceremonies took place on October 4, 2006. At approximately 7-feet tall by 12-feet wide, the monument was designed and constructed by Rob Conover of Sandstorm Signs and is made of local natural stone.

The community joined together to contribute to the success of the monument. Excavation work, landscaping, and cash donations came from businesses, private individuals and civic organizations. The monument is quite an achievement that reflects the pride we have in our country and will welcome travelers to Nevada County for many years to come.
